Privacy Policy

The short version

• Kørebog has no account, no server of its own, no ads, and no analytics or tracking tools.
• Your trips, places, and personal details are stored on your iPhone. We can't see them.
• Location is used only while a trip you started is running. The app never asks for “Always” access.
• To fill in place names, the start and end points of a GPS trip are looked up with Apple's maps service.
• If you ask Kørebog to calculate a route distance, the trip's From and To addresses are sent to Apple Maps to find route options. This happens only when you ask for it.
• You can export a backup file of your data. Kørebog makes it only when you tap Export, never uploads it, and you choose where it goes.
• Kørebog Premium is an optional one-time purchase through Apple. A purchase service, RevenueCat, checks whether Premium is unlocked. It receives purchase information and technical device data, never your trips or personal details.
• A CPR number is saved only if you choose to, and then only in the iPhone's Keychain.
• If you email us, we get your email address and your message, and use them only to reply.

Who we are

Kørebog is made by Roman Bun, an independent developer. Roman Bun is responsible for this policy and for the personal data described in it (the data controller). You can reach us at riznewhite@gmail.com.

What the app stores on your iPhone

Everything you enter or record in Kørebog is saved in the app's own storage on your iPhone:

• Trips: date, start and end time, from and to (the place names or addresses you type, or that were looked up for you), the distance GPS measured and the distance you confirm (and where it came from, for example GPS, typed, or an Apple Maps route), purpose, rate, and reimbursement. Stops along the way and whether a trip is a round trip. For GPS trips, also the coordinates of the start and end points. In Sweden, odometer readings if you enter them.
• Your car: the name you give it, the vehicle type, and, if you add it, the license plate.
• Who you hand in to: what kind of claimant you are (for example employee or self-employed) and the name of whoever pays the reimbursement.
• Regular places: the name, the address you type, and the type (for example Home or Client). Coordinates only if the place was saved from a GPS trip.
• Voucher details: your name and address, so they're filled in next time. The CPR number is covered below.
• Month close: which months you marked as handed in, with their totals and the trips they included.
• Reminders: your reminder choices. Reminders are scheduled locally by iOS and never contain places, addresses, or amounts.
• Settings: your market (Denmark or Sweden) and your default car.
• Purchase status: whether Premium is unlocked, so the app can show it straight away when it opens.
• A trip in progress: while a trip is running, the app saves it regularly so it isn't lost if the app closes.
• Export history: which months and periods you exported, in which format, and their totals.
• A copy from before your last restore: if you've restored a backup, a copy of the data you had before it, kept only on this iPhone until the next restore or until you delete it.

The app doesn't store a map of your whole route. It keeps the start and end points and the total distance. None of this is sent to us, and we have no way to see it.

Location

• When it's asked for: the first time you tap Start trip. Not during setup.
• What access: “While Using the App.” Kørebog never asks for “Always” access.
• When it's used: only while a trip you started is running. The app doesn't use location when no trip is running, and it never detects or starts trips on its own.
• In the background: if you lock your iPhone or switch apps during a trip, Kørebog continues that trip in the background using the standard iOS mechanism for this. iOS shows a location indicator while it happens. It stops when you stop or cancel the trip.
• What's kept: the trip's start and end points and its distance, as described above.
• If you say no: you can still log trips and enter the distance yourself.

You can change access at any time in Settings → Apps → Kørebog → Location.

Place names from Apple

To fill in place names for a GPS trip, Kørebog sends the coordinates of the trip's start and end points to Apple's geocoding service, which is built into iOS, and gets back a street and town name. Apple handles these requests under Apple's privacy policy. Apart from the route calculation described below, Kørebog doesn't send places or locations anywhere else. If a lookup fails, for example without an internet connection, the field stays empty and you can type the place yourself.

Route distance from Apple Maps

When you tap “Calculate from addresses” on a trip, Kørebog sends that trip's From and To addresses to Apple Maps, which is built into iOS. Apple Maps finds the places; if an address matches several, you choose the right one. Kørebog then sends the map positions of those places to Apple Maps, which sends back up to three driving routes with their distance and travel time. This happens only when you ask for it, never automatically or in the background, and stops along the way (via) aren't sent. Apple handles these requests under Apple's privacy policy. Kørebog saves only the km you choose and that they came from a route, not the routes or other map data, and remembers on your iPhone that you've seen the explanation shown before the first calculation. None of this is sent to us.

CPR number

On the reimbursement voucher (Premium) you can enter your CPR number, or your personnummer if you use the Sweden market. The field is optional. If you leave it empty, the voucher gets a blank line to fill in by hand.

• Not saved by default: the number is used only for the voucher you're making.
• Saved only if you choose: if you turn on the option to remember it on this iPhone, the number is saved in the iPhone's Keychain. It can be read only while your iPhone is unlocked, and it stays on this iPhone: it isn't synced to iCloud Keychain and doesn't move to another device.
• Nowhere else: it's never saved in the app's database, file names, logs, or reminders, and it's never sent to us or to RevenueCat.
• Removing it: delete it in Kørebog's Settings. Do this before deleting the app, because iOS can keep Keychain items after an app is deleted.

The number is printed on the voucher you make and goes wherever you share that file.

What we don't do

Kørebog has no account or sign-in and no server of its own. It contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking tools. The only third-party SDK is RevenueCat, used for purchases (see below). We don't sell your data, and your trips and personal details are never sent to us.

Exports

When you export a month, Kørebog creates a PDF or CSV file on your iPhone and opens the iOS share sheet. The file goes only where you send it, for example to your employer by Mail. After that, the recipient's own privacy practices apply.

Backup file

In Settings → Backup you can export all your Kørebog data as one file: trips (including routes, addresses, purposes, distances, odometer readings and the map positions of GPS trips), regular places (including their addresses and any map positions), your car, who you hand in to, your name and address for the voucher, your settings, which months you've handed in, and your export history. The CPR number and your Premium purchase are never included, and neither is a trip that's being recorded.

Kørebog creates the file only when you tap Export and opens the iOS share sheet; it never uploads the file anywhere. You choose where it goes, for example Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop or an email to yourself, and the terms of that place then apply. The file isn't encrypted, so keep it somewhere you trust.

Restoring a backup replaces all the data in Kørebog on that iPhone with the backup's data. Before it does, Kørebog saves a copy of your current data on the iPhone so you can undo the restore. That copy is never shared or uploaded, and you can delete it in Settings → Backup.

Backups, storage, and deleting your data

Kørebog doesn't sync your data to iCloud or any other service. Like other apps' data, it's included in your iPhone backups if you use iCloud Backup or back up to a computer. Those backups are handled by Apple or kept on your computer, under your control. You can also export a backup file yourself (see Backup file).

You can edit or delete any trip in the app. Deleting the app deletes its data from your iPhone, except a saved CPR number, which iOS can keep in the Keychain (delete it in Settings first). Older iPhone backups may still contain the app's data until they're replaced.

Diagnostics from Apple

If you've turned on Share With App Developers in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics with us. Apple provides these in a form that doesn't identify you, and they don't contain your trips. Apple also gives developers aggregated App Store statistics, such as download counts. Your iOS settings control this, not Kørebog.

Purchases and Kørebog Premium

Kørebog is free to download, and logging trips, the reimbursement amounts, and the monthly report are free. Kørebog Premium is an optional one-time in-app purchase that adds the reimbursement voucher and year and custom-period reports. The purchase is processed by Apple under Apple's terms. We don't receive your payment details, your Apple Account, or your name.

RevenueCat

Kørebog uses RevenueCat, a service from RevenueCat, Inc., to confirm purchases, restore Premium, and give us an overall view of sales. When the app opens, it asks RevenueCat whether Premium is unlocked on this installation and loads the price. This happens even if you never buy anything.

RevenueCat receives:

• An anonymous user ID that RevenueCat creates at random for this installation. It isn't tied to your name, email, or any account.
• Purchase information from the App Store, such as the product, transaction ID, purchase date, price, currency, and country, and whether the purchase is active or refunded.
• Technical information sent with each request: app and iOS version, device model, language settings, App Store country, and the identifier for vendor (a device ID that iOS gives to apps from the same developer). As with any internet connection, RevenueCat also sees your IP address.

RevenueCat never receives your trips, locations, places, amounts, name, address, CPR number, payer, car, or exported files. Kørebog doesn't use the advertising identifier (IDFA), doesn't track you across other companies' apps or websites, and doesn't share this information with advertisers.

We use this information to give you what you bought (our legal basis is our contract with you) and to see overall sales (our legitimate interest). RevenueCat processes it on our behalf as a data processor, under its data processing addendum. RevenueCat is based in the United States, so the information may be processed outside the EU and EEA. See RevenueCat's privacy policy. To have your purchase information deleted at RevenueCat, email us. Because the ID is anonymous, we'll need the date and country of your purchase to find it.

Emails to support

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, including any screenshots or files you attach. We use it only to answer you and to fix the problem you report. Our reason for doing so (the legal basis) is our legitimate interest in helping you. The mailbox is hosted by Google (Gmail). We keep support emails only as long as we need them to help you, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics, and no tracking scripts. It's hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse. The App Store buttons link to Apple's website.

Your rights

If you live in the EU or EEA, you have the right to access, correct, and delete personal data about you, and to object to or restrict how it's used. Your trips and personal details never reach us, so you manage them directly in the app. For support emails or purchase information held by RevenueCat, write to us and we'll help.

You can also complain to your data protection authority. In Denmark that's Datatilsynet, and in Sweden it's Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY).

Children

Kørebog is made for adults who drive for work. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

If Kørebog starts handling data differently, for example by adding cloud sync, we'll update this policy before the change ships and change the date at the top.
