Kørebog is a mileage logbook app for iPhone. This policy explains, in plain language, what information Kørebog handles, what it's used for, and what it never does. If you only read one paragraph, read this one:

Kørebog has no account, no server, and no analytics or advertising software. Your trips, vehicles, and settings are stored only on your iPhone. Location is used only while a trip you personally started is running. We never see, sell, or share your data, because there is no server for it to go to.

Information Kørebog handles

Everything below is created by you, inside the app, and stored locally on your device:

  • Trip details you enter or record: dates, start/end locations or place names, distance, purpose, and any notes.
  • Location (GPS) data, collected only while an active trip you started is running — see "Location" below for the full explanation.
  • Vehicle information you provide, such as a vehicle name and an optional registration number.
  • App settings, such as your selected market (Denmark or Sweden) and default vehicle.

Kørebog does not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, or any other data from your phone beyond what's listed above. There is no account, so there is no profile of you anywhere for us to build.

Location

Because Kørebog measures driving distance, location deserves a section of its own.

  • When it's requested: Kørebog asks for location access the first time you tap "Start Trip" — never during setup, and never before you've decided to use the feature.
  • What level of access: Kørebog only ever requests "While Using the App" (When In Use) location access. It never requests or uses "Always" location access, and there is no code in the app that does.
  • What it's used for: location is used exclusively to measure the distance of a trip you started, and to look up a readable place name near your start and end points using Apple's built-in Maps/geocoding service.
  • What happens if you lock your phone mid-trip: if you lock the screen or switch apps while a trip you started is still running, Kørebog can keep recording that specific trip using Apple's standard mechanism for exactly this situation. iOS shows its own on-screen indicator the entire time this happens, and it stops the moment you tap "Stop Trip," cancel the trip, or the trip otherwise ends. Kørebog never monitors your location at any other time, and it never starts tracking automatically — only a trip you deliberately started can ever trigger this.
  • If you say no: denying or later turning off location access does not stop Kørebog from working. You can still start and save trips manually and enter the distance yourself.
  • Where it goes: nowhere but your device. Location data becomes part of the trip record stored locally on your iPhone. It is never transmitted to us, and we have no way to see it.

Where your data is stored

All trip data, vehicle information, and settings are stored locally on your iPhone. Kørebog does not operate its own server or backend, and the current version does not sync your data to iCloud or any other cloud service. If cloud backup is ever added, it will be optional, off by default, and this policy will be updated before it ships.

Because your data lives only on your device, deleting the app permanently deletes your trip history. There is no copy anywhere else — including with us — to recover it from.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

Kørebog does not use any analytics SDK, advertising network, or tracking technology. We don't know how many trips you've logged, how often you open the app, or anything else about how you use it. Kørebog shows no ads and does not use anyone's data for advertising or profiling.

If you've opted in to "Share With App Developers" in your iPhone's Privacy & Security settings, Apple may separately provide us with anonymized crash or performance data through Apple's own developer tools. That sharing is controlled entirely by your iOS settings, not by Kørebog, and never includes your trips or location history.

Purchases

If Kørebog offers an optional purchase to unlock additional features, that purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store's standard purchase system (StoreKit). We never see, receive, or store your payment card details, billing address, or Apple ID — Apple processes the transaction and simply confirms to the app whether you've purchased.

Third-party services

  • Apple Maps / geocoding: used only to turn GPS coordinates from an active trip into a readable place name, as described above. Governed by Apple's own privacy practices.
  • Apple App Store / StoreKit: used to process any optional purchase, as described above.

Kørebog does not integrate any other third-party SDK, analytics tool, or advertising network.

Your choices

  • Turn location access on or off at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. Manual trip logging keeps working either way.
  • Edit or delete any trip or vehicle at any time from within the app.
  • Delete all of your data at once by deleting the app from your iPhone — since everything is stored locally, this removes it completely and immediately. There is no separate deletion request process, because there is no copy of your data anywhere but your device.

Children's privacy

Kørebog is not directed at children and is not intended for use by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International use

Kørebog is currently designed for drivers in Denmark and Sweden, and shows Danish or Swedish content, currency, and mileage rates depending on the market you choose in the app. Everything in this policy applies regardless of which market you use.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Kørebog changes. If we make a material change — for example, if we ever add cloud sync or a new third-party service — we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, describe the change in the app's release notes.
